Able Danger was a classified military planning effort led by the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM). It was created as a result of a directive from the Joint Chiefs of Staff in early October 1999 by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Hugh Shelton, to develop an information operations campaign plan against transnational terrorism, "specifically AlQaeda."[citation needed] In December 2006, a sixteen-month investigation by the US Senate Intelligence Committee concluded "Able Danger did not identify Mohamed Atta or any other 9/11 (World Trade Center) hijacker at any time prior to September 11, 2001," and dismissed other assertions that have fueled 9/11 Conspiracy Theory-s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Able_Danger
The DIA is trying to buy all 10k copies of Operation Dark Heart to effectively block its publication. Specifically, the DIA wanted references to a meeting between Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, the book's author, and the executive director of the 9/11 Commission, Philip Zelikow, removed. In that meeting, which took place in Afghanistan, Shaffer alleges the commission was told about "AbleDanger" and the identification of (World Trade Center hijacker) Mohammed Atta before the attacks. No mention of this was made in the final 9/11 report. Shaffer, who was undercover at the time, said there was "stunned silence" at the meeting after he told the executive director of the commission and others that Atta was identified as early as 2000 by "AbleDanger."

It's not surprising that Afghanistan has a huge Corruption problem. Cultures built on Tribalism usually do. The problem is that it becomes our problem because of our meddling. It now seems clear that public corruption is roundly despised by ordinary Afghans, and that it may constitute the single largest factor driving them into the arms of the Taliban.
Abby Fichtner summarizes Jim McCarthy's recent presentation of his Core Protocols (see Software For Your Head). “How many of you have been on a team in a state of Shared Vision?” This is the question Jim McCarthy used to kick off last night’s Agile Boston presentation. “Now, stay standing if you thought that team was at least 2x as effective as a team without one… 5x more effective… 10x more effective.” The majority of us stayed standing throughout. 10 TIMES more effective! That’s like the difference between sheer joy and utter misery, isn’t it? 11 commitments and 11 protocols.
